From The South: Dear Brethren, Another month has flown by and a lot has happened. On Family Night we dedicated the Marion Dunn Masonic Park sign that has been over a year in the making. We really owe a lot to our Brother Secretary Paul Ferguson and Worshipful John Story for all the hard work they put into this for our Lodge. This means a lot to our Lodge and shows the community what Masonry is all about. I think the best part of the night was seeing R W B. F. Shealy and witnessing him receiving his 50-year pin from his Brother W Nuby Shealy. I don’t believe there was a dry eye in the Lodge. I was glad to see how well he is doing. I was also pleasantly surprised to see Brother Mel Tillis at our Lodge, especially when he complemented me on my cooking! And Brothers lets not forget our 2nd Campathon on April 11-12. Please call me so I can make our reservations. April Menu April 3 - Barbecue Pork Sandwiches with Baked Beans and Chips April 17 - Something new, Pineapple Peppered Chicken, Mixed Vegetables, and Red Potato Bake - this is Red Potatoes with Swiss Cheese, Spinach and Scallions added. And Ladies, we appreciate your delicious, special side dishes and desserts! Thanks again, Ladies for all your Help. Fraternally, Randy Strong From The South: Dear Brethren I would like to start off with thanking all the ladies for their side dishes and desserts. I can never thank you enough for your help. Well it is time again for another Masonic Camp-A-Thon We will again camp at Suwannee River Hideaway in Old Town on April 10-11. All those that wish to go please call me or Worshipful Ladd so we can make reservation. Everybody seems to like this place. Well, not a lot to write about this month I’ve been sick most of February and it has been going around so in closing I hope that all you Brothers and your families stay healthy and may God be with you all. March Menu — March 6th Men’s Night — Beef Stew over Noodles and Corn Bread March 20th Family Night — Smoked Pork Tender Loin with mashed taters and brown gravy, green beans... and Hot Rolls. And Our Ladies side dishes and Desserts. Mmmm good. Fraternally, Randy Strong From The South Dear Brethren I tell you, these articles sure come up quick, I thought my monthly bills came due fast but when you have to write and article every month it just comes up fast, especially when you don’t always know what to talk about, and this is only my 2nd one. Just think only 34 more to go. I hope I don’t bore you to much. For those who were not at the Master Mason Degree I will tell you it was fantastic: the Past Masters sure showed us youngster how to do it right! My hat goes off to all you Past Masters for a great job, and also congrats to our Brother Senior Warden Ken Shaw for his great job in the EA Degree. I would also like to congratulate all the newly obligated Brothers, and look forward to seeing you all in lodge. I always want to thank the Ladies for the side dishes and desserts; they always complete my meals and make my cooking taste better. Well, its time to close so may God watch over all of you and keep you safe and healthy. February Menu Hmmm what to cook what to cook Feb. 7 - Men’s Night — Ham and Kielbasa Sausage with mac & chesse and green beans & hot rolls Feb. 21 - Family Night — Chicken Parmigiano with corn, tossed salad and Italian bread Fraternally Randy Strong Dear Brethren I would like to take this time to congratulate Brother Paul Duscher on becoming the new Worshipful Master of Marion Dunn Lodge and that we all look forward to working with him in making this another great year. I would also like to thank Worshipful John Story for the great year that he had and all the things he accomplished. I also want to thank all of the Brothers who voted for me as Junior Warden, I only hope that I can do as good of a job as Brother Ken Shaw. I would also hope that all the ladies continue to bring all those great side dishes, I would be lost without you ladies. In closing I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and I wish you a Blessed New Year.
January Menu
January 3rd - Chili with Corn Bread, Frito’s, Cheese or Saltines to put in with the Chili. This should be good for a cold night!
January 17th - Meatloaf with Green Beans, Corn, Mash Taters with Brown Gravy, and Hot Rolls.
Fraternally, Randy Strong December 2007 Dear Brethren: I want to thank everyone for bringing a canned item to November’s Family Night Dinner. I delivered the cans to a local food pantry, which was very thankful. I am sure many families in the Ocala area had an extra special Thanksgiving because of your generosity. This month, I will be preparing my last two meals as the Junior Warden of Marion Dunn Lodge No. 19. It has been my privilege to serve as Junior Warden and I hope everyone enjoyed the meals this year. I want to thank all the brothers who contributed to the preparation, cooking, and cleanup. The family night meals were usually started around 12:00PM, with a few exceptions, which were prepared the evening prior. In addition there is the dinning room set up and clean up, which require the same amount of work as the meal preparation and cooking. I also want to thank all the ladies for their support with side dishes and deserts. In closing I want to wish everyone a joyous Christmas and Happy New Year. December Menu: December 6: Garden Salad, Green Beans with New Potatoes, and Pork Chops December 20: Garden Salad, Corn Chowder, Baked Ham, Glazed Carrots, Green Beans, Scalloped Potatoes And, hopefully, lots of side dishes and deserts from our wonderful ladies! Fraternally, Ken Shaw From The South: November 2007 Dear Brethren: The holiday season is here. The climate is getting cooler, days shorter and nights longer. This is a great time for family. My brother lives in Philadelphia and although I email him regularly, I still call him at least twice a month. Today almost everyone owns a cellular telephone and 99% of the plans do not charge long distance. I have a family tradition, which a lot of people think is strange. The Friday after Thanksgiving I get up around 4:00 a.m. and depart with some of my children into the abyss of darkness to go Christmas shopping. Each year as soon as the front door opens one of the youngsters says, “It is still dark out”. We stand in lines, mingle with people, have a nice breakfast then come home and take a well-deserved nap. The shopping is crazy, but the family communications during the shopping is hilarious, and the memories are cherished for many years. On Nov. 15, Marion-Dunn will serve a traditional Thanksgiving Dinner. Brother Harold Mix will prepare his very famous turkeys and I will have special helping hands in the kitchen. Marion-Dunn is appreciative of all the support it has received during the year and wants to say “Thank You” and wish all a “Happy Thanksgiving”. This is also a time to remember those less fortunate. The Star Banner reports several food banks have barren shelves. I would like to make a very nice delivery of supplies to a food bank on Nov. 16 and ask that everyone please bring one can food item Thursday night. I will place a box at the entrance to the dinning room. November Menu: November 1 - Chicken and Dumplings November 15 - Thanksgiving Dinner On Nov. 3rd, Marion-Dunn is hosting the 15th District Outdoor Degree and I would like to see all of you there.
Fraternally, From the South September 2007 Dear Brethren: School is here; our youth have started another year to enrich their knowledge, so please drive carefully. I will miss the summer because it provided me the opportunity to work in the kitchen with my youngest daughter and oldest son. I had a lot of fun. Last month Joel removed the seeds from three dozen tomatoes and three dozen red peppers. Kristie, with the help of Joel combined the ground beef, eggs, bread crumbs, fresh thyme, tomato relish and other ingredients, mixed the beef, and filled the pans. The enjoyment they displayed while working and communicating was very fulfilling. Now, Kristie is back at Florida State, Joel has homework, but the Stewards will be returning from their vacation. I hope they had a good time. I also enjoy September because I am able to volunteer at the Shrine Rodeo. I have been blessed with four very healthy, active children. Participating at the Shrine Rodeo has become very special to me by saying thank you for my good fortune and enabling me to provide help to families. I encourage the entire craft to get involved with the youth of Marion County by either volunteering or financially supporting a youth organization. I want to thank everyone for their help in August. The great side dishes and desserts provided by the ladies are always appreciated. September Menu: September 6 — Beef Stew September 20 — Garden Salad, Summer Vegetable Soup, Chicken Parmesan or Chicken Cutlet, Spaghetti. Fraternally, Ken Shaw Ladies — Family Night menu is Italian. What is your side dish (salad or vegetable) to compliment the menu. Or . . . your favorite dessert. Summer is over, and we are ready for your help! From The South August 2007 Dear Brethren: August is here, the end of summer approaches and school starts in a few weeks. August is a special month for me because I have the opportunity to celebrate more birthdays with family and friends then in any other month. I want to thank everyone with their help in celebrating July. I hope the barbeque along with the great side dishes and deserts provided by the ladies were thoroughly enjoyed. One of the best parts of a meal is its’ presentation. The next time you are preparing your plate take a few moments to look at the dish and try to imagine how much time is spent preparing a meal which you can taste through its’ appearance. It has been my pleasure this year to receive several dishes from the ladies that were truly great works of art. The first ride of the Tyler’s Sword motorcycle club was held on Saturday July 21. All the brothers, their wives and friends met at Marion Dunn and prior to their departure enjoyed a breakfast of biscuits and sausage gravy. Thank you brothers Dale Moss and Kenny Jones for scheduling the inaugural ride to coincide with a Saturday breakfast. I was sold out by 8:30AM. August Menu: August 2 — Barbeque Chicken and Beanie Weenies August 16—Garden Salad, Canadian Cheese Soup, Meatloaf, Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans Lodge News: The 2007 15th Masonic District Outdoor Degree has been scheduled for November 3. Place this date on your calendar. Lunch will be barbequed chicken, baked beans, and cole slaw. If you have never attended ask an officer and he can let you know the location, provide directions, or arrange a car pool. Fraternally Ken Shaw From The South July 2007 Dear Brethren: Happy Fourth of July. To all the brethren attending the Jaycees fireworks have a great time and to everyone enjoying their own fireworks remember safety first. We have traveled through half of 2007. I want to thank everyone that has helped in the kitchen and dinning room. I have a great group of brothers that help me prepare and serve every meal and the ladies have been extremely supportive with their scrumptious sides and desserts. At the end of May I had the opportunity to attend and represent Marion Dunn Lodge No. 19 at the 178th communication of the State of Florida Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons. This was the first time I attended Grand Lodge and it was a lot more then I expected. The opportunity to participate in the election of our Grand Officers, legislation, seminars, and spend time with our brothers from throughout the state was educational and relaxing. It was a pleasure to attend the installation of the 2007 – 2008 Grand Lodge Officers. I want to extend warm congratulations to Right Worshipful William J. Furse, Jr. District Deputy Grand Master for the 15th District and Right Honorable Gregory J. Wilson District Instructor for the 15th District. The 15th District Association did a tremendous job with their hospitality suite, which was a catalyst for a lot of social gatherings among members of the 15th and other Districts. Thank you to Right Worshipful Paul Nehring and his volunteers. I have already provided my report on Grand Lodge at the June meeting. If anyone has any additional questions about the legislation please feel free to contact me. I also encourage all the brothers from Marion Dunn to consider attending Grand Lodge. I have invited my wife and children to accompany me next year. The Hotel accommodations are terrific and the location is ideal for a vacation. July Menu: July 5: Barbeque Beef Sandwiches July 19: Garden Salad with Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, Smoked Chicken and Potato Salad. Lodge News: The 2007 15th Masonic District Outdoor Degree has been scheduled for November 3. Place this date on your calendar. Lunch will be barbequed chicken, baked beans, and cole slaw. If you have never attended ask an officer and he can let you know the location, provide directions, or arrange a car pool. Fraternally Ken Shaw Dear Brethren and Families: I want to thank the ladies of the Eastern Start for the terrific family night dinner. Everything was wonderful and I enjoyed the vacation. Grand Lodge began May 27 in Orlando. This is my first visit and I look forward to a great experience. Earlier this month I attended the Legislation meeting at the Ocala Scottish Rite, it provide me with an opportunity to visit with Brethren from several lodges and participate in legislative discussions. This is a meeting all the brothers would enjoy and I encourage attendance The school year is at an end. Lets extend congratulations to all of our graduates for a job well done and wish them all the best in the future. Remember to make a special effort to support our youth during the summer by participating in youth activities and working with them. June Menu: June 7 - Lasagna June 21 - Garden Salad, Tortellini Vegetable Soup, Pork Loin, Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans and lots of wonderful desserts! Dear Brethren and Families: I want to congratulate Brother Paul Duscher for the terrific Brother Bring a Friend Night he hosted. Brother Paul, it was an excellent presentation. I also want to thank Senior Steward Don Duscher and Junior Steward Michael Jazz for their assistance Wednesday night preparing for Thursday’s dinner, all the brothers that assisted Thursday, and the Ladies for their wonderful dishes. Marion Dunn is privileged to host Open Books the third Saturday of every month. Prior to open books there has been a biscuits and gravy breakfast. Several Brothers from throughout the district come to open books and participated in breakfast, and others come to have a nice breakfast with their spouse or friend prior to their Saturday chores. Breakfast is served from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM. This month in addition to biscuits and gravy, we will be serving scrambled eggs and corn beef hash. The yearly cost is less then a lunch, and the support is priceless. I encourage you to contact our secretary and become a member. Fraternally Ken Shaw Dear Brethren and Families: I hope everyone enjoyed March’s Irish dinner and my thanks for all the assistance. Brother Jimmy Dionne and his wife Tracey have been very active in the dining room. Each month they have planned, purchased, and setup the tablecloths, decorations, and centerpieces. Thank you brother Jimmy and Tracey. April Biography: Joseph Russo Brother Joe has been a member of Marion Dunn Lodge since 2002. While living in New York, Joe earned numerous professional licenses. In 1987 Joe and his family moved to Ocala where he intended to retire. Retirement was not 100% compatible with Joe, and it did not take long for the serial entrepreneur’s creativity to recalibrate. Today he is the sole proprietor of Dirt Cheap, a very successful landscaping contractor supplier. Joe enjoys spending time boating, hunting, golfing and exercising his dogs. Joe and I were initiated in Marion Dunn Lodge the same day and developed a steadfast friendship throughout the degrees and catechism. I encourage everyone to inquire about participation when a degree is planned, you will thoroughly enjoy the work. Fraternally, Ken Shaw Dear Brethren and Families: I want to thank everyone for all their help with February’s Family Night Dinner. The kitchen served over 120 dinners, which could not have been accomplished without the participation of several individuals in Wednesday’s preparation, and Thursday’s cooking, plating, serving, and clean up. The Rainbow Girls provided outstanding service and the desserts are always terrific. I am happy to report all the kitchen dishes, bowls, glasses, cups, etc. have been washed and I encourage anyone using the lodge to utilize them. Fraternally Ken Shaw November 2006 My Brothers, Thank you for the great turnout and all the wonderful side dishes for our family dinner. The year is winding down fast. Dinner in November will be our Thanksgiving Feast. Please come out and join us. Bring a big appetite. I am planning on turkey and dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy plus a few other items. Your usual delicious side dishes will be most welcome and enjoyed as always! Remember if you are going to be at the outdoor degree, we will have some extra slabs of ribs for sale at $14.00 per slab. Please contact the Secretary to place your order. Don’t forget to come and join us for breakfast at our November Open Books on Nov. 18 at 8 a.m. There is always good food, lots of good Masonic fellowship, and the opportunity to read through the official Masonic Books. See you soon! Fraternally, Paul Duscher October 2006 Brothers and ladies, once again I want to thank you for the wonderful dishes and desserts you provide every time we meet for our family night dinners. Your support makes the work of the brothers who help in our kitchen a rewarding experience. NEW TIME FOR DINNER 6:30 PM. Fall is always welcomed in with Oktoberfest and that will be the thyme for our October family night dinner. If you have any old or new recipes that you think will fit in please bring them, the more the merrier, after all that is what our dinner is all about. Brothers I want thank the appointed and elected officers, also many of the craft who have worked most of this year to create the Marion-Dunn Masonic Park. We proceeded with this plan believing that we had the consent of the Grand Lodge of Florida and that we were doing everything properly. Due to a technical error in Masonic procedure we were forced to withdraw the proposal from the city council. The hours of work invested by our Brother Secretary and others have proved fruitless. The City of Ocala will continue to use our property free of charge as they have for years and the residents of Ocala will continue to be unaware that Marion-Dunn Lodge owns the property that they play on. Another chance may has been lost to show the public the good works of our fraternity. Just imagine how a sign would look on 36th Avenue saying “Marion-Dunn Masonic Park -- in partnership with the City of Ocala Parks and Recreation Department.” And it costs us nothing , but saves us every month. Hopefully the Lodge can resurrect the Lease and make it work for the benefit of the Brotherhood and the citizens of Ocala. Reminder: Election day is a month away. In a democracy everyone has an equal voice, one vote. Please use yours. Fraternally, Paul Duscher Junior Warden August 2006 Thank you all for making our family night meals into great dinner’s with all of your wonderful side dishes, please keep them coming. I think since our salad night was so good I would like to try it again this month. I will put something together for those who like a warm spot on their plate but I will be looking forward to all the great pasta and veggie dishes along with the deviled eggs, jello and deserts that I hope will have our serving tables straining to hold it all. This year is flying by for me. The next time we get together school will be starting, summer will start fading into fall and the Ocala Shrine Rodeo will be held at the Ocala Livestock Pavilion on September 1-3. Please come out and support this fund raiser for the patients at the Shrine Hospitals. Charity is the foundation of our fraternity. Plus you get to see a great PRCA Pro Rodeo and our kid’s are the winners. Come out and support the children if you are able. Fraternally, Paul Duscher Junior Warden July, 2006 Summer is here and I don’t seem to be able to keep up. I once again waited until the last minute to send in my article so this will be short. Thank you to all who once again filled our serving table at our June Family Night, and I believe that everyone enjoyed dinner and especially the fellowship that comes at Marion-Dunn Lodge. Family night dinner for July will be Italian night, so if you have any secret family Italian dishes that you would like to show off, please bring them. We will again be serving a tasty breakfast July 15 at our Saturday Open Books for all our interested brothers in the 15th Masonic District. We invite you to come and enjoy breakfast and the fellowship about 8:30, and then stay for Open Books and learn more about Freemasonry! Fraternally,
Paul D. Duscher JUNIOR WARDEN June 06 By the time this Trestleboard arrives in your mailbox, Grand Lodge 2006 will be over. This will be my first time to attend and I am looking forward to joining with all of the other members of Marion-Dunn who will be there. It all starts Sunday the 28th with Ritual Competition in Winter Park, our team will try to make all of you brothers proud of us and bring home the state championship. My wife Sharon and I will be leaving Wednesday from Grand Lodge on a short vacation to Kentucky and West Virginia. This will be the first vacation Sharon and I have taken alone in 28 years. I will miss the men’s night meeting but Worshipful Ladd and Brother Randy Strong have assured me that good meal will be provided. On Family Night June 15 I am planning to present a meal on the lighter side made up of salads, fruits, and veggies. A big “Thank You” to everyone for filled our serving table with all of the great side dishes on Family Night in May. All of you wonderful cooks are the ones who make our dinners so good. Please keep them coming! The recipe for one of those delicious dishes is on page 6 of this issue. Brothers, remember on Open Books Saturdays, we serve a good breakfast for a small donation. Come out, break bread with your brothers and brush up on our Lodge work. Marion-Dunn is very fortunate to have the official books on the Lodge Work to learn from based at our Lodge. Please come out when you are able. Fraternally, Paul D. Duscher Today's Date -May 1, 2006 From the South I would like to thank everybody who bring those wonderful side dishes to our family night dinners. They make a great addition to the main course the Lodge furnishes, and everyone enjoys your special recipes. So please keep them coming. We had a wonderful turnout for Brother Bring A Friend Night with every seat filled in our dining room! Good job everybody. I need to thank Brother Paul & Eileen Ferguson for decorating the dining room for this event. Dinner for family night in May will be sliced pork, mashed potatoes, gravy, salad and rolls -- and your delicious side dishes! There will be no Open books this month since the District 15 Association picnic will be May 20, so we will not serve Breakfast on that day. See you next month for breakfast! Meanwhile, see in Lodge May 4 and May 18. Fraternally, Paul Duscher Today's Date -- April 1st 2006 Greetings from the South, I hope that this article finds all of our members and their families in good health. Thank you all for coming to our family night dinner and meeting. We had a large turnout and I hope everyone had enough stew. Ladies the side dishes were great as always, thank you and please keep them coming. Allow me to take a minute and say what an honor it was for me to set in lodge and witness the service awards presented to our brothers at our family night meeting. I have seen a number of service awards presented in the short time that I have been a mason, but that the first time I have witnessed a 65 year pin presentation. Congratulations to all the brothers and their families. Our brother Senior Warden, John Story has a special program planed for brother bring a friend night April 20th. Please come out and join us, help make our guest's and their families welcome. To help people form a favorable opinion of our fraternity, to get good men interested in joining and starting the journey toward self improvement is an obligation that all of us as masons share. On Tuesday March 22 a bunch of us got together and went to visit Dunellen Lodge. We received a warm welcome and had a good visit, by the way, they have a junior warden that know's his way around the kitchen. Dinner is still in the planning stages, but we will have some type of chicken and pasta dish, salad and bread. Fraternally, Paul D Duscher Junior Warden Oct 1st 2005
Fall has
arrived but those warm summer breezes are still here. October promises to be
another busy month for us. We did not get to do the Past Master's degree last
month so we are going to try to have it this month. If you don't remember
last year's family nite, it was quite an experience, all kinds of people
dressed up as all kinds of things, so lets try to outdo last year. Brother
Earl Huff is putting together another halloween entertainment this year and it
promises to be quite an event.
Brother Ken
Shaw still has lots of new items in the jewelry case for sale and if you don't
have your raised in the woods T-shirt yet, just see him and he will get one
for you. Speaking of raised in the woods, don't forget the outdoor degree on
November 5 starting at 4:00 pm coming soon to a cow pasture near you. Also, I
need someone to volunteer to help me with the cooking for the outdoor degree,
if you have time and interested in helping you can call me at home at 629-1850
or let me know at lodge.
I haven't come
up with a menu for our family nite this month, but any side dishes all you
ladies would like to bring will make any meal I cook taste better.
fraternally
John Story
Junior Warden
Sept 1, 2005
Summer is
almost over and fall is coming, but I'm sure we are still in for alot of hot
and humid weather. September is going to be another busy month for us. We
are having another Fellow Craft degree and our Senior Warden will be sitting
in the East for this. Anyone who wishes to help out with this degree should
contact Brother Ladd and offer your help. Don't forget about the outdoor
degree coming soon to a field near you.
On family nite
this month I will be doing a short presentation on the new Medicare Part D
benefit that will start in 01/2006. If you are currently on Medicare or will
be eligible for Medicare soon I will try to answer all your questions.
For dinner that
nite we will be having meatloaft with mash potato's. If the ladies could
bring in more of those delicious side dishes it should make the meatloaf taste
better.
fraternally,
John Story
Junior Warden
July 1, 2005 From John Story . . . July has arrived and I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable July 4. June was another busy month for the lodge. We initiated more brothers on June 28 as Brother Ken Shaw sat in the east and did an outstanding job along with his degree team. We seem to have a lot of EA’s now and we need to assist W+ Herb Collins in getting these guys ready to stand proficiency so they can move on to Fellowcraft and be ready for the outdoor degree, so if you have some spare time please contact Herb or the lodge and volunteer, your help will be greatly appreciated. This month we celebrate the birth of our great nation. Please take time to remember our troops who are fighting to keep this nation great. Speaking of celebrating for this months family night I plan to have hamburgers, hot dogs and bbq sandwiches, with bbq beans and potato salad, so any ladies who wish to bring in side dishes or deserts it will be greatly appreciated. Have you checked out the jewelry case lately, lots of new items, if you see anything you need or want check with Brother Ken Shaw, I’m sure he will give you a good deal. May 1, 2005
Time is moving
right along this year and it's already May. I would like to thank all of the
ladies who have been bringing in side dishes for our family nites. Please,
keep them coming. We initialed 2 new brothers during the month of April and I
sat in the east for that degree and would like to thank all the Brother's on
the degree team. On April 30, Marion Dunn Lodge did a child ID at the
Albertson's shopping plaza which was put together by Brother Ken Shaw.
I am looking
forward to my first Grand Lodge Meeting this year and I hope to learn alot.
I plan to have
a special meal for family nite in honor of Mother's Day and if anyone has any
suggestions please feel free to let me know.
Also, we have
in some new T-shirts and other items that may interest you, check out the
jewelry case or see Brother Ken Shaw.

April 1, 2005 I hope everybody had a happy Easter. This month should be another busy month for the log. We have our Spring Fling Chicken Thing and on April 21 our Family Night we will have our Brother Bring a Friend Night, don't forget to give names and addresses to our secretary so he can send invitations to our new potential Brothers.
The menu for family night is not yet decided, but I promise something good. Any ladies wishing to bring sides will be appreciated. Looking forward to seeing everyone at lodge. Fraternally John R Story Junior Warden March 1, 2005 March promises to be a busy month. We have an EA Degree, and Brother Randy Strong will be sitting in the East. The degrees is scheduled for March 9, so please come and and support Brother Randy and our new Brothers. We will be visiting Dunnellon Lodge this month and we need you come and join us. I hope everyone enjoyed our Valentine’s dinner, we worked on it very hard. I would like to offer special thanks to Brother Pat Stone who came in and helped me that afternoon. I don’t known what the menu will be for March Family nite yet but I sure would appreciate if the ladies could bring in some of your delicious side dishes. The Spring Fling Chicken Thing is just that! We will be having a fund raiser chicken BBQ on April 2 from 1:00 to 4:00. The price is $8.00 per dinner and you can order as many as you want or until the chicken runs out. The dinner will include baked beans, French fries and cole slaw. If you want to pay in advance just see one of the Officer’s and they will be glad to take you money. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me. Have you checked out the Jewelry Case yet. Brother Ken Shaw has new T-Shirts and hats available. If HE does not have your size just let him know what size you need and he will order it for you. Also, he has many other items that might interest you. February 1, 2005
We made it through January
and some very cold weather.
Last Family Night, our Brother Senior Warden Ladd Poehlman did a White Apron presentation and as usual did a great job. The Worshipful Master present a 25 year and 40 year pin and did an outstanding job. Congratulations to the Brothers who received these honors. This month at our first meeting we will be doing an Enter Apprentice Degree and the Officers will be sitting in the regular chairs. Family night this month we will be doing something for the ones we care most about. It's Valentine's Day for the Lodge and there is no need for the ladies to bring side dishes as I will try my best to provide a very good dinner for the ladies. Brother's be prepared to serve the one you care most about. We will have a delicious ham dinner with all the fixings and a great desert for everyone. I will need a little help in the kitchen for this, and if anyone would like to volunteer please call me at home -- my home phone is in the Trestleboard. Fraternally Brother John January 1 2005
I would like to thank the craft for giving me the opportunity to serve as
junior ward for the year 2005. I look forward to the challenge. on Dec 11
members of the Marion Dunn lodge attended the Christmas party for e-1 and did
photo id for children, I don't have the exact count but there was a lot. on
family night Dec 16 was a very good night with good food and even Santa showed
up. there were 3 50 year awards given out as courtesy and our treasury Paul
Wilson was presented his 25 year pin. congratulations to all of them.
it will be my intent to do the very best job I can do as junior warden and if
my cooking is not up to the standard that was set forth in 2004, I can say
that I have some very big shoes to fill in brother Ladd. speaking of our
senior warden I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate him on
being named mason of year for 2004, he is well deserving of this award and
they could not have picked a better mason.
I would like to as the ladies of the lodge for their help on family by
bringing in those excellent side dishes that have brought in the past which
are very appreciated. if anyone has any suggestions or would like something
they prefer please let me know and I will do my best.
